同じアゴーラの冠をもつ2棟一体型の宿泊施設。
「茶の湯」という共通項を守りつつ、
それぞれの「まち=通り」を重んじ、
趣の異なる「まちごころ」を感じるデザインにした。
祇園祭の舞台となる四条通に面したAGORA京都四条。
永くこの地で歴史を重ねてきた賑やかで華やかな京の町衆文化。
その文化を育む町家からインスピレーションを得た。
this is a twin-building accommodation that shares the AGORA name.
While both properties are unified by the concept of chano-yu (the way of tea), each honors the street it faces -its own “machi” or local district -through distinct designs that reflect a different expression of machigokoro,
the spirit of the neighborhood.
Agora Kyoto Shijo faces Shijo-dori, the main stage of the Gion Festival, and draws inspiration from the lively and elegant culture of Kyoto’s townspeople, which has developed over generations in this area.
Its design is inspired by the machiya townhouses that nurtured and sustained this rich urban culture.
